The Fitzwilliam Quartet are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2019 - and were keen to include Bromsgrove in their celebrations, in view of the close relationship we had with them in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The programme they were intending to play for us (Shostakovich Qt 2 and Beethoven Op 132) was an exact repeat of the one they gave for us, at the old North Bromsgrove High School, on 17th October 1980. However, because of a change of personnel, the programme will now feature different great works by these composers.
