Formed at Royal Northern College of Music in 2003, the Barbirolli Quartet were the UK nomination in the 2009 European Concert Halls ‘Rising Stars’ series.
This year they will be appearing in the Aldeburgh, Verbier and Aix-en-Provence festivals.
For us, they will be featuring Sir Arthur Bliss’s rarely heard 1950 2nd Quartet which the composer himself considered ‘my best work in chamber music.’
