Our old friends the Coull Quartet return to play a selection of Cowie’s Birdsong Bagatelles, premiered by them in 2004, and a quartet by Robert Simpson, whose work they have tirelessly championed. Mark Bebbington also returns to mark the 50th anniversary of John Ireland’s death with a performance of his Piano Sonata, and then joins forces with the Coull for a performance of local, Worcester based, composer Ian Venables’ lyrical Piano Quintet, which they recorded together in 2010
